Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility
- Support residents with medication reminders and basic health monitoring such as vital signs
- Provide companionship and emotional support to individuals with dementia, Alzheimer's, or other cognitive disabilities
- Help with meal preparation, feeding, and maintaining proper nutrition standards
- Perform light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning resident rooms and common areas to ensure a safe and welcoming environment
- Operate standard passenger vehicles safely for transportation needs when required
- Follow safe patient lifting practices and manual handling procedures during transfers or repositioning of residents
- Document care activities accurately and communicate effectively with team members about resident needs or changes in condition
Skills
- Prior assisted living or long-term care experience is highly valued
- Strong understanding of assisting with ADLs and managing residents with dementia or cognitive impairments
- Knowledge of vital signs monitoring, medication administration, and basic first aid/CPR certification
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities in general care settings
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle manual transfers or repositioning of residents
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with residents, families, and team members
- Familiarity with home & community care practices, group home environments, or residential care homes is a plus
