Job Description: RaganSmith, a Pape-Dawson company, is seeking a full-time entry-level Land Surveyor in Training based in our Nashville office upon graduation. This position is responsible for working under a licensed surveyor and assisting on various projects in both public and private sectors. This role will also coordinate with civil engineers, landscape architects, and other land surveyors to assist our clients in developing commercial, residential, and mixed-use projects. Responsibilities Assist in production of control, boundary, topography, ALTA, right of way, and construction surveys Prepare reports detailing legal boundaries and additional survey information that will be presented to clients Collaborate with project managers, crews, and government agencies when necessary. Resolve uncomplicated boundaries with minimal oversight Applies knowledge of survey, boundary, state, and county laws, statutes, and regulations to projects Generate contour maps and alignments Conduct project related research Write legal descriptions for a variety of legal instruments Additional related duties as needed Qualifications Surveyor in Training (SIT) certificate issued by any state board of surveyors Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Survey, Geomatics, GIS, or a related field Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D Previous field survey experience Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within land surveying Experience working under a licensed professional surveyor Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work with project deadlines Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to work closely in a team environment Preferred Qualifications Proficient with GEOPAK, MicroStation, and Open Roads Experience with LiDAR capabilities such as 3D laser scanning and point cloud registration Benefits Health, dental, vision, and life insurance Long-term and short-term disability coverage Generous PTO and paid holidays 401(k) safe harbor contribution plus 10% employer matching Premium time paid out to eligible salaried employees when over 40 hours are worked in a week Annual salary review and bonus Tuition and gym reimbursements Parental leave Flexible work environment Focus on work-life balance RaganSmith was founded in 1933 as a land surveying company.
