Responsibilities
- Safely operate tractor-trailers with manual transmission across designated routes, following all DOT (Department of Transportation) and FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations.
- Load and unload freight using manual handling techniques, forklifts, or other equipment as necessary, ensuring proper securing of cargo such as refrigerated items, flatbed loads, or hazardous materials.
- Navigate routes efficiently using GPS navigation systems to meet delivery schedules while optimizing fuel usage and route planning.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck and trailer to ensure safety and compliance with safety standards.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and cargo documentation in accordance with DOT regulations.
- Handle various types of cargo including freight on flatbeds, tankers carrying liquids or hazardous goods, and roll-off trucks for waste or recyclable materials.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules, delays, or issues encountered during transit.
Experience
- Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including route driving and delivery of freight.
- Familiarity with operating manual transmission trucks and specialized equipment such as forklifts or dump trucks.
- Experience handling refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, hazardous materials (dangerous goods), and freight requiring special care or regulation compliance.
- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations related to hours of service, vehicle maintenance, and safety protocols.
- Ability to load & unload cargo efficiently while adhering to safety standards for manual handling and hazardous materials regulations.
- Prior experience with GPS navigation systems for route planning and execution is highly desirable.

Pay: $1,000.00 - $1,500.00 per week
