About Rag & Bone

From our origins in New York in 2002, rag & bone was founded on a belief of uncompromising ideals: a commitment to doing things the right way, not the easy way. To making things that are as original as they are timeless. To being true to ourselves, even when that truth sets us apart from the mainstream.

We still believe in the same principles we started with: the easy elegance of classic British tailoring, the authenticity of American workwear, and the originality of our home city, New York. As New Yorkers, community and authenticity have become synonymous with our brand. An inclusive environment at rag & bone upholds our original values by encouraging employee connection and empowering each individual to have a voice on policy, process and collaboration for a more equitable future.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and highly organized Sr. Associate, Production to join our Footwear & Accessories team. This role is responsible for managing end-to-end production workflows — from costing and purchase orders through bulk production and delivery — while collaborating cross-functionally with merchandising, design, logistics, and marketing teams.

Responsibilities:

Production & Workflow Management

  • Manage scheduling, workflow, and production timelines across the seasonal calendar
  • Communicate daily with overseas factories to ensure orders are manufactured on schedule, to spec, and to quality standards
  • Coordinate, create, modify, and distribute purchase orders independently and in collaboration with the team
  • Track and maintain WIP reports and production timelines
  • Identify and resolve production issues proactively to minimize delays and disruptions
  • Communicate production priorities and updates across cross-functional teams including merchandising, marketing, and operations
  • Negotiate costs, lead times, and production terms with suppliers
  • Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and consistency across all production documentation and approvals
  • Track, organize, and manage marketing materials related to production and launches
  • Review, process, and communicate comments and approvals on artwork and packaging submitted by factories

Footwear Cost Management

  • Manage and track costing from proto through production
  • Partner with Manager on cost exercises and supplier negotiations
  • Analyze cost breakdowns (CBD), ensuring all charges are accurate
  • Prepare costing files for internal meetings and product reviews
  • Participate in product reviews and note changes in design, material, or cost
  • Flag margin concerns to Merchandising and Design during development and production stages
  • Enter costing and duty rates into internal systems
  • Collaborate with factories and Logistics on product classifications and duty rates
  • Partner with merchandising, sales, and planning to review and confirm final buys
  • Coordinate with factories on Product Detail Sheets and work with Logistics/Broker to confirm HTS/duty rates

Footwear & Accessories Production

  • Issue, maintain, and update bulk purchase orders with ex-factory dates, delivery dates, and costing
  • Maintain seasonal factory WIP reports, including final buys, BOMs, and delivery tracking
  • Monitor and track sample timing for CFM, wear test, AD samples, and TOPs
  • Communicate daily with vendors to troubleshoot production issues
  • Monitor communication between finished goods vendors and raw material vendors
  • Communicate delays, shortages, and overages cross-functionally and ensure system accuracy with Logistics
  • Send comments and approvals on CFM and TOP samples to ensure they meet spec and quality standards
  • Assist Manager with the third-party QC process
  • Monitor bulk penetration by factory and country of origin (COO)

Bulk Materials

  • Ensure bulk material comments are up to date following SMS reviews
  • Send bulk recaps to suppliers once bulk orders are placed
  • Coordinate material and product testing with the Compliance team
  • Review bulk material liabilities and manage payment and amortization

Administrative

  • Code all production invoices in Medius Flow and ensure timely submission and payment
  • Own Footwear style numbers and manage setup in Fashion Flow
  • Oversee Color Name setup in D365
  • Verify all style names with Legal prior to market
  • Issue New Vendor Forms and coordinate setup with Accounts Payable
  • Support the setup and lifecycle management of Licensed products

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in production or product development in footwear or accessories
  • Strong understanding of quality assurance, quality control, and industry standards
  • Experience communicating with overseas vendors and factories
  • Proficiency with WIP reporting, purchase order management, and costing tools
