Position Summary:
This seasonal position involves driving a Class A CDL truck to deliver sod and other materials within the Salt Lake City area and surrounding regions. The driving season typically runs thru November.
Responsibilities:
- Safely and efficiently operate a Class A commercial vehicle, adhering to all traffic laws and company safety regulations.
- Perform local deliveries and pickups within designated routes.
- Load and unload materials, ensuring proper handling and securing of cargo.
- Maintain accurate driving logs and other required documentation.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any maintenance or safety issues promptly.
- Provide excellent customer service to clients and vendors.
- Assist with general yard maintenance and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Valid and current Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Prior experience as a Class A CDL Truck Driver preferred.
- Strong safety awareness and a commitment to safe driving practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Physical ability to perform tasks that may involve lifting and carrying materials.
- Availability to work a flexible schedule.
