Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and vigilant Facility Security Officer to oversee the safety and security operations across our facility. Responsible for working with the FSO to implement and manage all . Work closely with Program Management, Information Technology, Human Resources, Contracts, and Government Security Representatives, the Security Specialist ensures compliance with the National Industrial Security Program (NISP), applicable DoD regulations, and customer-specific security requirements.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive Industrial Security Program in accordance with the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), DoD regulations, and contractual security requirements.
- Serve as the Facility Security Officer (FSO) and primary point of contact with the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA), government customers, and prime contractors.
- Strong understanding of personnel, physical, information, and industrial security principles.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Establish security processes and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for personnel security, physical security, visitor control, classified material handling, and facility operations.
- Manage personnel security actions including clearance sponsorship, investigations, indoctrinations, debriefings, visit requests, and access authorizations.
- Maintain accurate security records using DISS (or successor systems), NISS, and other applicable government security systems.
- Administer classified document control, storage, reproduction, destruction, and accountability programs.
- Develop and administer visitor control procedures and classified meeting protocols.
- Oversee physical security measures including access control systems, intrusion detection systems, alarms, locks, secure storage containers, and facility inspections.
- Coordinate and support government security inspections, self-inspections, vulnerability assessments, and corrective action plans.
- Develop security awareness and annual refresher training for employees and subcontractors.
- Investigate security incidents, prepare reports, recommend corrective actions, and monitor implementation.
- Support proposal efforts by reviewing security requirements and assisting with DD Form 254 implementation.
- Coordinate secure facility operations, including classified workspaces, conference rooms, and government-furnished equipment.
- Partner with Information Technology personnel to ensure compliance with classified information system security requirements and cybersecurity policies.
- Maintain emergency action plans, key control procedures, and after-hours security processes.
- Recommend continuous improvements to security operations as the organization grows.
- Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Security Management, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience., Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 3 years of experience supporting Industrial Security within a Department of Defense contractor environment..
- Demonstrated experience serving as a Facility Security Officer (FSO) or Assistant FSO.
- Thorough knowledge of the National Industrial Security Program (NISP) and NISPOM requirements.
- Excellent written communication skills for report writing and documentation; strong verbal communication for customer service and team coordination.
- Experience with Defense Information Systems for Security (DISS), National Industrial Security Systems (NISS), Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Services (eMASS), Electronic Application (eAPP), and related government security systems.
- Active Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance..
- Experience establishing and maintaining classified facilities and security processes.
- Working knowledge of DD Form 254 requirements and classified contract administration.
- Strong understanding of personnel, physical, information, and industrial security principles.
Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
