Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as slicing, chopping, and assembling ingredients following established recipes and procedures
- Operate basic kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including mixers, ovens, and slicers
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen appliances to meet hygiene standards
- Support meal assembly and presentation according to menu specifications
- Follow food safety protocols for handling ingredients, storing supplies correctly, and preventing cross-contamination
- Help with general cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, dishwashing, and waste disposal
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate tasks and ensure smooth workflow during busy service times
Skills
- Prior experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly desirable
- Strong food handling skills with knowledge of safety standards in production environments
- Experience in menu planning, food preparation, and adhering to recipes accurately
- Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Excellent knife skills with slicing techniques for various ingredients
- Knowledge of food safety management practices within the food industry or restaurant settings
- Ability to work collaboratively with kitchen staff while maintaining clear communication
