Duties
- Safely handle and restrain animals during grooming procedures to ensure their safety and comfort
- Perform pet grooming services including bathing, trimming, brushing, nail clipping, ear cleaning, and styling according to client specifications
- Assess each pet’s coat condition and recommend appropriate grooming treatments or health-related interventions
- Maintain a clean and sanitary grooming station, including equipment sterilization and waste disposal
- Communicate effectively with pet owners to understand grooming preferences and provide after-care advice
- Assist with pet care tasks such as feeding, walking, and basic veterinary support when needed
- Support team members with additional animal handling duties, including dog training or veterinary assistance as required
Requirements
- Proven experience in pet grooming with a strong understanding of animal handling techniques
- Knowledge of dog training methods and veterinary procedures is highly desirable
- Ability to handle animals of various sizes and temperaments confidently and compassionately
- Familiarity with animal restraint techniques to ensure safety during grooming and care activities
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary for equipment or large animals like dogs
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with pet owners
- Prior kennel experience or pet sitting background is beneficial but not mandatory
- Strong animal care knowledge including pet grooming, pet sitting, and general animal handling skills
