What are the responsibilities and job description for the Middle School Learning Center Teacher position at Rae Kushner Yeshiva High School?
Learning Center teacher should:
- Run small group Learning Center sessions in the morning, with goal of supporting students’ assignments while also addressing their learning goals;
- Pre-teaching new material; reviewing material
- Comfort customizing differentiated instruction and assessing student performance
- Push-in to all General Studies subjects on a schedule, with increased presence during major assignments that need in-class support;
- Lead pull out sessions which require more one on one support;
- Participate and ultimately lead grade level Students of Concern meetings;
- Update and manage students’ progress within internal documents;
- Maintain proactive and professional communication with parents about their students’ progress;
- Provide regular updates to Learning Center families on grade’s specific progress and/or growth points;
- Be comfortable collaborating regularly with faculty to edit and enhance assignments to support student learning;
- Work enthusiastically in collaboration with teachers to problem-solve and identify innovative, practical, and effective differentiation strategies to meet students’ learning needs;
- Support students in whole group settings, small group settings, and individually;
- Demonstrate initiative in modifying assignments for students’ learning profiles;
- Attend CST meetings and share how students are doing with the Child Study Team
