Senior FPGA Engineer

We’re looking for a Senior FPGA Engineer to join a cutting-edge trading firm operating at the intersection of finance and ultra-low-latency technology. You’ll play a key role in designing and optimising FPGA-based systems that power high-frequency trading strategies, working alongside a team of elite engineers, quants, and traders.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimise FPGA-based solutions for low-latency trading systems
• Implement high-performance data paths, network interfaces, and market data processing pipelines
• Work closely with software engineers and quantitative researchers to translate trading strategies into hardware
• Optimise timing, throughput, and resource utilization across FPGA platforms
• Participate in architecture decisions and contribute to system-level design
• Debug and troubleshoot hardware/firmware issues in production environments
• Stay current with the latest FPGA tools, techniques, and industry trends

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong experience with FPGA development (VHDL, Verilog, or SystemVerilog)
• Proven track record in low-latency or high-performance systems
• Experience with FPGA toolchains (e.g., Xilinx Vivado, Intel Quartus)
• Solid understanding of digital design, timing analysis, and hardware architecture
• Familiarity with networking protocols (Ethernet, TCP/UDP) and high-speed interfaces
• Experience with hardware debugging tools (logic analyzers, simulation frameworks)
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Desirable (but not essential)

• Experience in financial markets or high-frequency trading
• Knowledge of C/C for performance-critical systems
• Experience with PCIe, memory controllers, or high-speed serial interfaces
• Exposure to algorithmic trading systems or market data feeds
