Radius Recycling is looking for a reliable, safety-focused Equipment Operator to join our Portland, Maine team.
This is a great opportunity for candidates with experience operating equipment in construction, landscaping, manufacturing, farming, trucking, recycling, or other industrial environments who are looking for stable, year-round employment and opportunities to grow.
In this role, you'll operate and learn a variety of heavy equipment, including cranes, excavators, and material handling equipment, while supporting daily recycling operations in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
What You'll Do
- Operate cranes, excavators, and other equipment safely and efficiently
- Load, unload, sort, and move recyclable materials throughout the yard
- Perform daily equipment inspections and report maintenance concerns
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures
- Support general yard operations as needed
- Work closely with team members to maintain safe and productive operations
What We're Looking For
Required
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Commitment to safety, teamwork, and reliability
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and climb on and off equipment
Preferred
- Experience operating heavy equipment, excavators, loaders, cranes, forklifts, or material handlers
- Experience in construction, recycling, manufacturing, transportation, agriculture, or industrial environments
- Basic equipment inspection and preventive maintenance knowledge
