Class A CDL Driver (Home Every Night)

CDL-A Driver | Home Daily | $24.00/hr 10-15 Hours Weekly OT Available | Potential Annual Earnings $60K-$70K

We're seeking an experienced and safety-focused Class A CDL Driver to join our team. This is a local driving position where you'll start your day at 7:00 AM, complete deliveries and pickups within a 50-100-mile radius and return home every night.

Unlike many CDL opportunities, this role does not involve overnight travel, long-haul routes, or extended time away from home. For drivers looking to earn additional income, there are opportunities for approximately 10 hours of voluntary overtime each week, including occasional Saturday work.

What You'll DoTransportation & Deliveries

• Safely operate a Class A tractor-trailer or commercial truck.
• Transport materials and equipment between suppliers, customers, storage yards, and processing facilities.
• Follow dispatch instructions and complete assigned routes efficiently.
• Secure loads using chains, straps, ropes, and other approved securing devices.
• Operate in compliance with company safety standards and DOT regulations.

Loading, Unloading & Yard Support

• Assist with loading and unloading materials as needed.
• Operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, hand trucks, hydraulic lifts, and other loading equipment.
• Verify shipping paperwork, delivery receipts, and required documentation.
• Support facility operations and assist yard personnel when necessary.

Vehicle Inspections & Compliance

• Complete daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Maintain accurate electronic logs and DOT-required documentation.
• Report vehicle maintenance needs, defects, accidents, or safety concerns promptly.
• Help ensure equipment remains safe and compliant at all times.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL
• Valid Medical Card (Medical Examiner's Certificate)
• Manual transmission experience
• Roll-off or tractor-trailer experience
• Minimum 24 months of verifiable Class A driving experience within the last 5 years
• No more than 2 moving violations within the last 3 years
• No more than 1 preventable accident within the last 3 years
• Registered with the FMCSA Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse
• Ability to use electronic logging systems and mobile technology

Preferred

• Experience operating loading and unloading equipment
• Experience in recycling, construction, manufacturing, transportation, or industrial environments
• Strong commitment to safety and customer service

Work Environment

This position operates within an active metals recycling and industrial environment and may involve:

• Outdoor work in varying weather conditions
• Exposure to heavy equipment, noise, dust, and dirt
• Frequent interaction with dispatch, operations teams, and customers
• Occasional overtime and Saturday work opportunities

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Frequent walking, standing, bending, climbing, pushing, and pulling
• Ability to navigate uneven terrain and active industrial yards
• Strong hand-eye coordination and attention to detail
• Ability to safely operate commercial vehicles for extended periods
