Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate PRN Certified Occupational Therapy (OT) Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this role, you will support licensed occupational therapists in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. This position offers flexible scheduling to accommodate your availability while making a meaningful difference in patients’ recovery journeys.
Responsibilities
- Assist licensed occupational therapists with implementing treatment plans tailored to each client’s needs.
- Support patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including grooming, dressing, feeding, and mobility assistance.
- Help facilitate pediatric occupational therapy sessions focused on childhood developmental delays and autism spectrum disorder interventions.
- Provide care documentation accurately reflecting patient progress, treatment activities, and care plans.
- Assist with patient transport within healthcare facilities or to external appointments while ensuring safety through manual handling techniques.
- Collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes and ensure seamless care delivery.
- Support patients across various environments such as inpatient units, outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, and home health settings by applying physiologic and anatomical knowledge during therapy activities.
Experience
- Prior experience working in Orthopedic outpatient clinic is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience assisting with ADLs and implementing treatment plans for clients.
- Familiarity with medical imaging procedures and medical terminology relevant to occupational therapy practices.
- Strong understanding of physiology and anatomy principles as they relate to occupational therapy interventions.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with clients and caregivers to promote understanding and engagement in therapy processes.
- Experience working with diverse populations including geriatrics, pediatric patients, and individuals requiring occupational health services.
