The Housekeeping Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all guest rooms and public areas are cleaned and maintained to the hotel’s quality standards. This role conducts inspections, provides feedback and training to room attendants, supports inventory control, and ensures timely room readiness for arrivals.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect guest rooms, hallways, and public areas for cleanliness, maintenance issues, and brand standards.
- Verify that guest supplies and amenities are properly stocked according to room type.
- Ensure rooms are released to Front Desk in a timely manner for guest check-ins.
- Coach and guide room attendants on correct cleaning techniques and standards when deficiencies are found.
- Report any maintenance issues to Engineering and follow up until resolved.
- Assist in training new housekeeping staff on processes, cleaning standards, and safety procedures.
- Support the Executive Housekeeper in monitoring productivity and performance.
- Conduct deep-clean and preventive maintenance schedule checks.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, reports, and performance notes.
- Ensure compliance with hotel brand standards, OSHA regulations, and safety policies.
- Handle guest requests and concerns professionally and promptly.
- Participate in daily department briefings and communicate room status updates clearly.
- Assist with inventory counts of linens, amenities, and housekeeping supplies.
Skills & Qualifications
- Previous hotel housekeeping experience required; supervisor/inspector experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with housekeeping, front desk, and engineering teams.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask.
- Basic computer knowledge (PMS, Mobile Inspection Apps preferred).
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and perform physical tasks when required.
