What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Maintenance Technician position at Radisson Hotel Santa Maria?
We are a full service hotel looking to add a full-time Lead Maintenance technician to join our dynamic team. Our desired applicant must have maintenance experience working in a fast paced hotel environment or in a similar setting.
Job duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
- Possesses above average knowledge of how to use hand drill, wrench, hammer, paint and brush, different size ladders, mop, and screwdrivers, above average knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC and refrigerator maintenance and repairs.
- Supervises, develops and maintains an ongoing maintenance operation for the Hotel including but not limited to: Refrigeration, heating and plumbing, water treatment, preventative maintenance, hotel rooms, ice machines, swimming pool, lighting, kitchen equipment, HVAC, switch room, roof exhausts, electrical substations, etc.
- Manages and maintains a Preventative Maintenance Program throughout hotel setting that includes: rooms, public areas, back of house, front of house, etc. Ensuring it is completed weekly and monthly.
- On an ongoing and regular basis, inspects and evaluates the physical condition of the entire hotel asset, including all guestrooms, public areas, pool area, kitchen area, and housekeeping area; completes and retains inspection reports on a regular and timely basis, based on both company and brand standards.
- Performs routine maintenance around the building such as fixing structural damage, for example, window, door or wall repair.
- Repairs broken or leaking plumbing to avoid water damage and restore full use of water fixtures.
- Fixes potential safety hazards to avoid injuries.
- Notifies executive management concerning need for major repairs or additions.
- Oversees compliance with OSHA standards regarding proper usage, dilution of products, equipment safety, and usage as well as blood borne pathogen precautions and procedures.
- Orders material and assists in completing department work assignments on time and by specific dates.
- Oversees scheduling and adjusts scheduling of department staff members for the best interest of the hotel and its current needs.
- Communicates verbally and in writing with all levels of employees.
- Paints the building when old paint has become faded or chipped.
- Participates in monthly safety meetings and is the designated Safety Meeting Chairperson.
Applicants must be dependable, energetic, and have great customer service skills. Prior hotel experience is preferred but not required. Starting pay depends on experience.
