Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Enterprise Systems Administrator to join a state government IT team in Tallahassee, FL. This role will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), responsible for optimizing and managing both cloud (AWS/Azure) and on-premises environments, ensuring security, reliability, and scalability for critical systems. The ideal candidate will bring strong hands-on expertise in AWS, Microsoft Azure, Active Directory, Windows/Linux administration, and scripting.
Responsibilities
Develop, deploy, and maintain optimized AWS services and resources.
Manage AWS IAM and security infrastructure.
Administer Microsoft Azure Entra ID, Active Directory, and related resources.
Monitor and optimize Azure resource performance, identifying and resolving contention issues.
Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve Windows (2016 ) and Linux server issues.
Write and maintain PowerShell scripts for system monitoring and automation.
Work with data center staff, OIT, and stakeholders to deploy, upgrade, and configure resources.
Assist application owners/users with secure application access.
Develop and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and standards.
Provide recommendations for infrastructure process improvements.
Research and recommend solutions to meet functional and security requirements.
Support multiple projects with scheduling, planning, and reporting.
Perform additional system administration duties as required.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor s or Master s in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or 4 years of equivalent work experience).
3 years AWS experience (cloud management, IAM, deployments).
5 years Windows server administration, including Windows Server 2016 .
5 years Active Directory, DNS, and Group Policy administration in enterprise environments (1,000 users).
2 years Microsoft Azure experience.
3 years Linux server administration.
Strong PowerShell scripting experience.
Hands-on experience with cloud/virtual server environments.
Proven ability to install, maintain, and support third-party applications.
Must successfully complete a Level II Background Check.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Microsoft Azure Government and AWS GovCloud.
Experience with state government projects and Rule 60GG-1, F.A.C. compliance.
Knowledge of criminal justice IT standards.
Project management experience with large, distributed user bases.
Strong collaboration and communication skills to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Additional IT knowledge in areas such as programming or data analytics.
