Summary
Under the direction of the unit manager, this role provides direct clinical patient care. The role will assume responsibility for assessing, planning, implementing direct age-appropriate clinical care to assigned patients on a per shift basis, and unit level. The role is responsible for supervision of staff to which appropriate care is delegated. The role is accountable to support CNO to ensure high quality, safe and appropriate nursing care, competency of clinical staff, and appropriate resource management related to patient care.
Responsibilities
Assesses and documents patient/family educational needs: to aid in informed decision making about healthcare treatment and to provide a successful transfer within the healthcare environment; coordinates with peers to establish educational resources as needed Maintains a safe environment for patient and family Develops and coordinates discharge plans, independently or in collaboration with other staff Demonstrates critical thinking, problem solving skills, professional behavior, and customer service Performs hourly rounding Participates in team meetings regarding patient care and/or practice issues
Experience: Required: * Less than one year
Education: Required: * Bachelor of Science in Nursing
Licenses And Certification: Required: * Registered Nurse License - Current Maryland license or eligibility to obtain Maryland license * Basic Life Support
