Position Summary
Responsible for coordinating patient care and workflow for the CT and X-ray departments and for performing CT and X-ray exams as needed. Also assists the CT Supervisor with equipment maintenance, supply ordering, process and procedure, and staff and exam schedules.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Operates all CT and X-ray imaging and ancillary equipment and perform patient exams.
- Assesses daily clinic schedule and make resource adjustments as needed.
- Ability to create and maintain weekly technologist work schedule by communicating regularly with technologist.
- Evaluates daily workflow and staffing room assignments and adjusts as needed.
- Ensures exam orders are complete and correct including prior authorization and lung cancer screening criteria.
- Responsible for the preparation of all contrast media and essential supplies as needed.
- Performs IV insertion for intravenous contrast injections.
- Maintains supply inventory in a fiscally responsible manner.
- Monitors equipment downtime, maintenance schedule and repair logs.
- Participates in radiation safety, performance improvement, quality control and emergency response programs as needed.
- Provides direct and indirect supervision of radiography students assigned to area.
- Assists with customer survey responses.
- Ensures cleanliness and organization of CT and X-ray areas.
- Oversees new employee orientation and provides feedback to CT Supervisor for employee performance appraisals.
- Works closely with radiologists, peers, staff, and management to review and implement policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Plays an active role in maintaining ACR accreditation and other regulatory standards.
- Collaborates with and supports Presbyterian Healthcare Systems as needed.
- Maintains required certifications and licensure for department staff.
- Support supervision of technologists in absence of department supervisor.
- Adheres to the ARRT's Standard of Ethics.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Performance Requirements
- Knowledge of principles, practices, and techniques associated with quality CT and X-ray imaging.
- Skill to properly position patients for CT and X-ray Imaging.
- Knowledge of CT and Diagnostic X-Ray equipment and testing.
- Ability to acquire working knowledge of RIS system, EPIC EMR, PACS Change (McKesson), Qgenda, PenLung and scheduling software.
- Ability to anticipate and react calmly to emergency situations.
- Ability to maintain QC/QA program for CT and X-ray.
- Ability to provide guidance, instruction and mentoring to students and staff.
- Skill to establish effective working relationships with patients, visitors, and staff.
- Ability to identify and resolve problems using good judgment.
- Ability to communicate in a clear, concise, and professional manner
- Skill to trouble-shoot equipment operation and perform simple adjustments.
- Ability to apply written guidelines and standardized work practices.

- Current Radiography (R) and Computed Tomography (CT) certification with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Current license with the New Mexico Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Program.
- Current CPR certification or obtained within three months of hire.
