What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sales Support Engineer / Account Manager position at Radio Solutions, Inc.?
About Radio Solutions
Radio Solutions, Inc. (RSI) is a Massachusetts-based manufacturer of Bi-Directional Amplifiers (BDAs) and Emergency Responder Communication Enhancement Systems (ERCES) for public safety in-building radio coverage. We sell nationally through a network of authorized distributors serving the fire protection, life safety, and wireless integration markets. RSI is well-established, growing, and looking for the right person to help us scale our distributor channel.
The Role
We're hiring a Sales Support Engineer to own and grow our nationwide distributor channel. This role is equal parts account management and technical sales support — you'll manage relationships with existing distributors, recruit new ones, and provide the pre-sale technical guidance that helps them close deals. If you're the kind of person who can build strong partner relationships and also walk a distributor through the right product configuration for their project, this is your role.
Responsibilities
Manage distributor accounts. Be the primary point of contact for our distributor partners — build and maintain strong working relationships, understand their business, and ensure they have what they need to succeed with RSI's product line.
Grow the distributor network. Identify, prospect, and sign up new distributor partners to expand RSI's national reach.
Provide pre-sale technical support. Help distributors identify the best RSI solution for each application, prepare project estimates and quotes, and assist with specification and RFP responses.
Be the subject matter expert. Develop deep knowledge of ERCES, BDA, and DAS systems; the public safety communications industry; two-way radio; and the building and fire codes that govern in-building public safety coverage.
Enable distributor sales teams. Support distributor business development by helping them identify project opportunities, providing competitive positioning, and equipping their teams to effectively present RSI's products.
Represent RSI at industry events. Attend trade shows and conferences and deliver presentations as needed.
Qualifications
We're looking for someone who's a natural relationship-builder with enough technical aptitude to learn our products and industry. We're open to candidates at different experience levels — the right attitude and aptitude matter more than checking every box.
- Experience in account management, technical sales, sales support, or a channel/partner-facing role
- Strong relationship and communication skills — you're someone distributors will want to pick up the phone and call
- Comfortable learning technical products and explaining them clearly to different audiences
- Background in or familiarity with wireless/RF, public safety communications, DAS, or two-way radio is a plus
- Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently
