Construction Inspector

Radin Consulting, Inc., a transportation planning and design firm, is looking for a full-time Construction Inspector working on transit projects in the New Jersey / New York Metropolitan Area. Salary will be based on qualifications and experience. Excellent benefits are included. No recruiters, please.

Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills

· High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.

· Minimum 3 years of experience in construction inspection, preferably on large infrastructure or transportation projects.

· Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and relevant codes and standards (e.g., AASHTO, ASTM, local building codes).

· Experience with quality assurance/quality control procedures and documentation.

· Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents.

· Strong attention to detail and ability to identify non-conformances.

· Effective written and verbal communication skills.

· Proficiency in using inspection and reporting software/tools.

· OSHA 10-hour or 30-hour certification preferred.

· Ability to work in field conditions, including active construction sites and tunnels.

· Commitment to safety, quality, and compliance with project and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

· Conduct field inspections of construction activities to ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, and standards.

· Monitor and verify that all construction activities comply with applicable codes, standards, and contract requirements.

· Perform quality assurance and exercise the 'right to witness' testing of work under Project Contracts during active construction.

· Prepare and submit detailed reports of all inspections and testing conducted, including findings, observations, and any non-conformances identified.

· Coordinate with the Special Inspection Testing Agency and Project Contractors to schedule and facilitate inspections and testing.

· Maintain accurate records of all inspections, test results, and corrective actions taken.

· Identify and report any issues of non-compliance or safety concerns to the Quality Manager and relevant project stakeholders.

· Participate in regular field meetings and collaborate with project teams to resolve technical issues and support project delivery.

· Ensure that all inspection activities are conducted in accordance with the Hudson Tunnel Project Quality Management Plan and Standard Operating Procedures.

· Support the implementation of quality control and quality acceptance programs as required by the project.

· Assist in periodic audits to ensure compliance with project requirements and federal regulations.

· Maintain up-to-date knowledge of project plans, specifications, and regulatory requirements.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
