Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Part-Time Billing Specialist to support our Radiation Oncology team. This role is responsible for a variety of patient account and billing functions, including registration, charge entry, insurance verification, and authorizations. The ideal candidate is organized, accurate, and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and maintain patient accounts within billing software
- Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility
- Perform charge entry, chart audits, and ensure charge accuracy
- Monitor charts to capture services rendered (charge integrity)
- Assist with authorizations
- Assist with denial management, appeals, and follow-up on accounts as needed
- Copy and provide patient records for insurance and legal requests
- Support payment collection and posting (backup as needed)
- Process incoming mail, run deposit reports, and scan EOBs
- Manage work queues effectively
- Provide occasional phone support for the department
- Assist the Practice Manager with additional administrative duties
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum 1 year of medical billing experience preferred
- Radiation Oncology billing experience is a plus
- Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding
- Proficiency with computer systems and word processing

Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
