Radiant is seeking a talented Senior Electrical Engineer to own designs from requirements capture through operation. The candidate will be directly responsible for components of the nuclear microreactor control and measurement systems. The ideal candidate should be comfortable jumping from designing circuit boards to integration work interfacing with fault-tolerant, off-the-shelf hardware. This role requires collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams designing the nuclear reactor core, fluid heat transfer systems, and structures.

- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support the architecture, design, implementation, and testing of the microreactor electrical control systems
- Design and develop industrial electrical control hardware including schematics, wiring diagrams, harnessing, and integration assemblies
- Lead design of fault-tolerant and safety-critical electrical systems, emphasizing reliability, maintainability, and regulatory compliance
- Develop and review electrical interface designs between control systems, power equipment, and instrumentation
- Ensure designs comply with applicable electrical codes and safety standards including NFPA and NEC requirements
- Perform SCCR and Arc Flash calculations
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field
- 5 years of experience designing electrical hardware
- Experience designing fault-tolerant and safety critical hardware
- Experience with Ethernet, EtherCAT, Modbus, CANbus, RS-422, or other communications protocols
- Experience selecting, integrating, and troubleshooting sensors including pressure transducers, RTDs, thermocouples, shaft speed and position sensors, IEPE vibration sensors, and MEMS-based sensors
- Experience using electrical design software such as AutoCAD Electrical, Zuken, or similar schematic and wiring design tools
- Experience designing, analyzing, and working safely with industrial power systems including 120 VAC, 208 VAC, and 480 VAC equipment, including applicable electrical safety practices
- Strong electrical engineering fundamentals
- Experience specifying and integrating Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), soft starters, and motor control centers (MCCs)
- Experience in electrical architecture make vs. buy trades
- Experience with Siemens NX
- Experience with PLCs, Twincat, structured text programming
- Familiarity with EMI/EMC mitigation techniques and testing
- Experience with Python, C/C , or scripting languages for test automation, data acquisition, or diagnostics
- Experience supporting nuclear instrumentation systems
- Experience with FMEAs and hazard analysis
- Experience with industrial network architecture and deterministic control networks
- Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends as necessary to accomplish our mission
- Must work 100% onsite at El Segundo HQ
