Title: Performance Test Engineer – Gas Turbine
Location: : Lake Mary, FL USA 32746 or Can Work Remote
Duration: FULL TIME
Key Requirements:
Experience:
- Several years of power plant experience.
- Preferred: Specific experience with gas turbines or combined cycle power plants.
- Acceptable: Broader power plant experience (even if not specifically gas turbine-related), or strong field engineering or thermal performance/heat balance experience.
Technical Skills:
- Experience with power plant testing or performance calculations (thermal performance, heat balances).
- Familiarity (ideally hands-on experience) with ASME PTC codes:
- PTC 46 (Performance Test Codes for Overall Plant Performance) — highly preferred.
- PTC 22 (Gas Turbine Performance Test Code) — highly preferred.
- Some exposure to PTC 6 (Steam Turbine) is nice-to-have but not critical.
Educational Background:
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (especially Mechanical Engineering; Chemical or Electrical could also work).
- Acceptable: Associate’s degree or technical certification with strong practical experience.
Travel Requirement:
- Must be willing to travel about 60% of the year.
- Travel will be primarily domestic (U.S.) and within North and South America (occasional work in Brazil expected initially).
- Must have a valid passport.
Location Flexibility:
- Ideal: Candidate willing to relocate close to Client office (for better team collaboration).
- Flexible: If candidate is very strong and experienced, fully remote is acceptable.
Personality/Work Traits:
- Must show high flexibility, fast learning ability, and strong troubleshooting skills.
- Comfortable working with large electrical generators (400 MW scale).
- Safety-first mindset is very important (aligned with company culture).
Where Candidates Fall Short (what not to miss):
- No experience in power plants (only IT or unrelated “performance engineering”).
- Lack of flexibility or speed to learn.
- No familiarity with PTC standards or heat balance basics.
Interview Process:

- Panel Interview (MS Teams) with Client engineering team.
- Potential In-Person Interview (optional, depending on candidate strength).
- Goal: Hire within 30 days.
