Description
This contract position will be responsible for reviewing and entering historical evidence into a web-based evidence system, as well as assist with logging additional evidence during the contract period. This process will require reviewing hard disks and the content stored within and confirming that the data matches historical reports. Additionally, new evidence must be handled following best evidence management practices and following all legal and compliance policies and procedures.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
Maintaining the chain of custody of electronic devices received from employees internally or through the mail.
Review digital evidence stored on hard drives and ensure the data matches inventory log.
Prepare Excel document following specific template to upload to web based evidence management system.
Review data entered into web-based evidence system to ensure upload of data is correct.
Verifying that the documentation and electronic devices match what is being reported and what is received.
High volume of data input from documentation received, such as an employee’s name and identifier, by handwriting and into a computer application used for tracking purposes.
High volume of data input off of electronic devices received, such as the make, model, serial number, by handwriting and into a computer application used for tracking purposes.
Identify any issues of inconsistencies in documentation or devices received and communicate these issues with the involved personnel.
Print and affix label stickers to documentation and electronic devices.
Organize documentation and electronic devices into files and bins for short term storage and long-term retention.
Adhere to digital forensic principals with respect to evidence handling and preservation.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Ability to lift, move, open, and handle bins containing hard drives, laptops, and other computing devices weighing over 50 pounds.
Be able to work with minimal supervision. Be self-sufficient and motivated individual to meet goals in a timely manner.
Maintain awareness and follow data handling, safety, and security policy and procedures.
Basic understanding of data privacy.
