JOB SUMMARY:
The Director of Nursing will oversee the nursing department, ensuring high-quality patient care, compliance with regulations, and effective management of nursing staff. This role is critical during transitional periods and requires strong leadership, communication, and clinical expertise.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide guidance and support to nursing staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Conduct performance evaluations and facilitate professional development for nursing personnel.
- Manage staffing levels, scheduling, and resource allocation to meet patient care needs.
- Ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and compassionate patient care.
- Monitor patient outcomes and implement quality improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, accreditation standards, and agency policies.
- Prepare for and participate in inspections and audits.
- Assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of nursing policies and procedures.
- Stay current with best practices in nursing and healthcare to ensure high standards of care.
- Assist in budget preparation and management for the nursing department.
- Monitor expenditures and implement cost-effective practices.
- Serve as a liaison between nursing staff, administration, and other departments.
- Facilitate regular meetings to address issues, share updates, and promote teamwork.
- Other Duties as Assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Registered Nurse licensure required; Master’s degree in Nursing or Healthcare Administration preferred.
- Current and valid nursing license in the state of practice.
- Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Proven experience in managing nursing staff and operations.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) and other healthcare technologies.
- Strong leadership and decision-making abilities.
- Adaptability and resilience in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to patient-centered care and nursing excellence.
