Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced, dependable, and enthusiastic Lead Teacher who is passionate about early childhood education and committed to creating a warm, engaging, and developmentally appropriate classroom. The ideal candidate will lead with professionalism, build positive relationships with families, collaborate well with coworkers, and provide a safe and enriching environment where children can thrive.
Responsibilities
- Create and maintain a safe, clean, organized, and welcoming classroom.
- Plan and implement engaging daily lesson plans and learning activities.
- Foster children’s cognitive, social, emotional, physical, and spiritual development.
- Maintain positive and respectful communication with parents and families.
- Ensure compliance with all Texas Child Care Licensing regulations.
- Complete required classroom documentation, daily reports, and observations.
- Supervise children at all times while maintaining appropriate teacher-to-child ratios.
- Model Christian values through kindness, patience, integrity, and respect.
- Work collaboratively with administrators and fellow teachers to create a positive school culture.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and ongoing training.
- Help maintain classroom materials and learning centers that support high-quality instruction.
- Follow all health, safety, sanitation, and emergency procedures.
Qualifications
Required
- Minimum of 2 years of licensed childcare experience.
- High school diploma or GED.
- CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain before employment).
- Knowledge of child development and classroom management.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
- Ability to pass all required background checks.
Preferred
- CDA, Associate’s Degree, or higher in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
- Experience with curriculum planning.
- Experience working in a Texas licensed childcare center.
