About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and innovative Product Development Manager to lead research, development, and commercialization of new and existing products within our flexible packaging division. This role is ideal for a strategic thinker with deep technical expertise and a passion for driving innovation, quality, and cost efficiency across the product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead product development initiatives from concept to commercialization, ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Plan and direct R&D programs focused on improving product performance, quality, and cost efficiency.
- Identify new product opportunities through market research, customer feedback, and industry trends.
- Select and evaluate materials to meet design, performance, and cost objectives.
- Lead cross-functional teams and manage technology transfers to manufacturing.
- Visit customer sites to resolve product-related issues and collaborate on new product development.
- Partner with packaging and material suppliers to incorporate innovative technologies.
- Provide project management leadership, ensuring timely and successful project execution.
- Support ISO and GMP compliance, ensuring all projects meet food safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Train and mentor team members, fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support departmental and company objectives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, or related field (advanced degree preferred).
- 10 years of experience in product development, manufacturing, or process engineering—preferably in flexible packaging or labeling.
- Strong understanding of raw materials, production processes, quality control, and cost analysis.
- Proven ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel); experience with ISO systems a plus.

- Strong scientific and engineering foundation with analytical problem-solving ability.
- Effective communicator at all organizational levels—production, technical, and management.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to evaluate data, make informed decisions, and lead projects to completion.
- Must be able to accurately distinguish color shades (color vision test required).
- Physically able to work safely around moving machinery and maintain alertness in fast-paced production environments.
