Job Title: Environmental Health and Safety Manager

Location: Conway, SC (Onsite)

Job Type: Fulltime

Salary Range: $100,000 to 110,000/Year

Position Overview

The Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager is responsible for providing overall leadership, management, and technical expertise for all EHS programs at the Conway, SC manufacturing facility. This role ensures compliance with local, state, federal, and international regulations while supporting operational excellence, employee safety, environmental stewardship, and continuous improvement. The position also provides technical support to overseas operations as needed.

The EHS Manager operates with a high level of autonomy and collaborates closely with site leadership, HR, Operations, Maintenance, and Quality teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all Environmental, Health, and Safety programs at the Conway facility while providing technical assistance to overseas plants.
  • Develop, recommend, and implement practical EHS strategies aligned with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and company values.
  • Ensure integration of EHS principles into company vision, culture, and operational processes.
  • Support company growth initiatives through environmental permitting and regulatory approvals.
  • Partner with cross-functional leaders to embed EHS into manufacturing, quality, maintenance, and operational initiatives.
  • Lead employee engagement and continuous improvement efforts related to EHS performance.
  • Conduct accident, incident, and injury investigations; implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Prepare and deliver EHS training and presentations for employees, leadership, corporate teams, and international locations.
  • Conduct and facilitate monthly safety meetings for approximately 200 employees.
  • Lead the Safety Committee and facilitate monthly Safety Committee meetings.
  • Manage stormwater testing, monitoring, documentation, and regulatory reporting.
  • Collaborate with the Maintenance Department on vendor management related to PPE, security systems, site safety controls, and facility regulations.
  • Participate in evening, off-hour, and international meetings or calls as required.
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable OSHA, EPA, DOT, and environmental regulations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong working knowledge of environmental, health, and safety principles, practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and implement EHS initiatives across all organizational levels.
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally, particularly with Quality and Operations, to align objectives and improve performance.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to prioritize EHS resources to address critical business needs.
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Solid understanding of workers’ compensation programs and claims management.
  • Experience with TSCA compliance and maintaining Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
  • Strong program management and budget oversight skills.
  • Ability to develop and manage Hearing Conservation Programs, including noise monitoring, employee training, and audiometric testing.
  • Demonstrated experience with environmental compliance programs including:
  • RCRA
  • Form R reporting
  • DOT Hazmat
  • Tier II reporting
  • Title V air permitting
  • Proficiency in OSHA compliance programs such as:
  • HAZWOPER
  • Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
  • Confined Space
  • Respiratory Protection and Fit Testing
  • Knowledge of industrial hygiene monitoring and air sampling (sound surveys can be learned onsite).
  • Familiarity with chemical and product compliance requirements, including REACH and RoHS.
  • Experience applying continuous improvement and quality tools (Six Sigma preferred).
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs independently.
  • Availability for on-call support during nights, weekends, holidays, and off-hours, with the ability to respond onsite when required.

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety Engineering, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or a related scientific discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive EHS experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated success managing workers’ compensation cases.
  • Proven ability to drive safety culture and implement behavioral-based safety programs.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
