About the Role
As a Skills Trainer, you will work directly with adult clients and their families in community settings, helping individuals develop the practical and social skills they need to live healthier, more fulfilling lives. Your work will focus on empowering clients through hands-on support, guidance, and evidence-based skill-building strategies.
What You’ll Do

Provide one-on-one skills training focused on daily living, self-care, and social interaction

Identify each client’s unique needs and develop individualized training plans

Support clients in achieving greater independence and community engagement

Collaborate with families, caregivers, and external partners (including court systems and social services)

Educate clients and families on mental health, substance use, and available resources

Assist clients in accessing community services and participating in activities

Maintain timely and accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) system

Work closely with treatment teams, providers, and referral sources to ensure coordinated care

Uphold all organizational policies, ethical standards, and confidentiality requirements

High School Diploma required; additional education preferred

At least 2 years of experience in skills training, social services, or a related field

Certifications such as Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) or Certified Life Skills Coach are a plus

Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance

Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills

A compassionate, client-centered approach and commitment to ethical practice
