What are the responsibilities and job description for the Patient Services Representative position at Radiant Health Centers?
Radiant Health Centers (RHC) seeks a Patient Service Representative (PSR). This is a patient facing role and is the first point of contact for patients when accessing RHC’s services. This position is a critical first step in the service process. The PSR will also provide clinical support and assist back-office administrative tasks as needed.

Job Requirements:
- Manage and evaluate incoming calls to determine level of importance, and the type of assistance and information to provide within area of responsibility, as well as direct calls appropriately. Respond to inquiries in a courteous manner. Resolve complaints in an efficient and timely manner.
- Welcome patients and guests who walked-in or have appointments in a courteous and professional manner.
- Check-in and schedule medical and behavioral health patients for their appointments. Notify provider of their arrival.
- Expedite patient processing by having them complete appropriate forms. Review for completeness.
- Distribute and explain sliding scale fee discount program to all patients.
- Obtain patient identification and insurance information. Confirm insurance eligibility.
- Collect any insurance or sliding fee co-pays.
- Optimize provider schedules and patient satisfaction through efficient scheduling.
- Support food pantry services by distributing pantry menus and nutritional supplement forms to patients.
- Take patient medical histories, reconcile medications, review vaccinations, and take vital signs.
- Administer topical, oral or intramuscular medications.
- Take necessary specimen either via finger stick, throat swab or blood draw (phlebotomy) for laboratory tests.
The ideal candidate will have the following qualities and qualifications:
- Minimum requirement is a High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience.
- Medical Assistant Certificate from an accredited Medical Assistant program required.
- Current CPR Certificate required.
- EPIC experience preferred.
- Ability to follow directions and instructions, be proactive, have strong organizational skills, ability to be assertive. Must be able to set boundaries with patients in a professional manner.
- Ability to quickly respond and adapt to a variety of situations, exercise good judgement and make sound decisions.
- Bilingual Spanish required.
