Job Title: Revenue Cycle Analyst
Location: Providence, RI
Work Arrangement: Hybrid (Preference for 100% Onsite)
Duration: Long-Term Contract, Minimum 2 Years
Position Summary
The Revenue Cycle Analyst is a non-clinical role within the Clinical Informatics Department responsible for supporting revenue cycle operations through data analysis, reporting, and revenue cycle system support. This position works closely with Revenue Cycle Leadership, Finance, Clinical Informatics, and Information Technology teams to analyze operational and financial data, develop reporting solutions, and identify opportunities to improve billing accuracy, reimbursement, and overall revenue cycle performance.
The analyst will contribute a financial and reporting perspective to clinical informatics initiatives, including Electronic Health Record (EHR) implementation, system optimization, and governance activities. This role does not involve direct patient care or clinical decision-making responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Support healthcare revenue cycle operations through data analysis, reporting, and system support activities.
- Analyze operational, financial, and revenue cycle data to identify trends, performance gaps, and improvement opportunities.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance reports, dashboards, and analytical tools to support business and operational decision-making.
- Collaborate with Revenue Cycle, Finance, Clinical Informatics, and IT teams to improve billing accuracy, reimbursement, and revenue cycle performance.
- Support EHR implementation, optimization, and governance initiatives by providing revenue cycle expertise and reporting insights.
- Monitor key revenue cycle metrics and assist leadership with performance analysis and operational reporting.
- Evaluate billing, claims, reimbursement, and collections data to identify process improvement opportunities.
- Assist with denial analysis, reimbursement monitoring, and revenue integrity initiatives.
- Translate business requirements into reporting and analytical solutions.
- Communicate findings and recommendations effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Support data validation, reporting accuracy, and system-related troubleshooting efforts.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Minimum three (3) years of experience supporting healthcare revenue cycle operations, healthcare financial systems, or healthcare reporting functions.
- Experience working with hospital revenue cycle systems and/or Electronic Health Record (EHR) platforms.
- Experience developing reports using healthcare reporting tools, analytics platforms, or business intelligence solutions.
- Knowledge of healthcare revenue cycle processes, including:
- Billing
- Claims Processing
- Reimbursement
- Collections
- Knowledge of payer reimbursement methodologies, denial management, and revenue cycle performance metrics.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret operational and financial data.
- Ability to communicate complex findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong documentation, reporting, and stakeholder collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting EHR implementation, optimization, or clinical informatics initiatives.
- Experience working within hospital or healthcare provider environments.
- Familiarity with healthcare data analytics, reporting, and performance improvement methodologies.
- Understanding of the relationship between clinical documentation and revenue cycle outcomes.
