Artificial Intelligence Engineer - Agentic Data Engineer

Job Summary (List Format):

- Position: Artificial Intelligence Engineer 4 – Agentic Data Engineer
- Location: Hybrid; must be onsite in Richmond, VA, quarterly
- Engagement: Contract (07/21/2025 – 12/31/2025)

- Responsibilities:
- Gather and translate business needs into analytics solutions
- Design, develop, train, and deploy machine learning and agentic AI models
- Produce well-documented code and maintain version-control systems (e.g., Git)
- Communicate analytics results effectively to stakeholders
- Qualifications:
- 10 years leading data science projects or teams
- Experience with supervised/unsupervised learning, model selection, feature engineering, and evaluation metrics
- Experience mentoring junior team members
- Strong research background with 5 peer-reviewed publications
- Experience with Big Data frameworks (e.g., Spark, Databricks)
- Degree in Computer Science, AI, Data Science, or related field (Ph.D. preferred)
- Required Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in Python and/or R (10 years)
- Knowledge of SQL databases (10 years)
- Experience with Spark, GraphDB, Azure Databricks (5 years)
- Experience training LLMs with structured and unstructured data (4 years)
- Machine Learning experience (4 years)
- GIS spatial data experience (2 years)
- Interview: Phone and in-person

Note: Ph.D. in a STEM field is a plus.
