Department Summary: The Radian Research Engineering Department—with teams in Lafayette, Indiana; Pearl, Mississippi; and Knoxville, Tennessee—is responsible for the research, design, development, and support of innovative and legacy products, instruments, systems, software, and services that serve electric utilities, meter manufacturers, and laboratories worldwide.
Position Summary: Radian Research is seeking an on-site Test Engineer to lead and perform hardware and firmware verification at our Lafayette, Indiana facility. This role combines hands-on testing with technical leadership, owning verification strategy and execution across hardware and embedded firmware designs. The ideal candidate is comfortable in the lab, drives test efforts from concept through release, and works closely with design engineers to ensure high-quality, reliable products. This is an on-site position at the Lafayette, Indiana facility.
Responsibilities:
· Lead verification and test activities for hardware and firmware designs
· Define verification strategies, test plans, and coverage goals based on design requirements
· Develop, execute, and maintain test cases, test benches, and automated test frameworks
· Perform hands-on hardware and firmware testing in the lab and on target platforms
· Validate firmware functionality, performance, and robustness on production-representative hardware
· Identify, debug, document, and track defects; collaborate with hardware and firmware designers to drive resolution
· Review design specifications, schematics, and requirements to ensure complete and effective test coverage
· Support system bring-up, integration testing, regression testing, and release qualification
· Mentor and provide technical guidance to other engineers on test methods and best practices
· Continuously improve test processes, tools, and methodologies
· Other Duties as assigned
