What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Outdoor Track Coach position at Radford High School?
Duties/Responsibilities
Assist Head Track Coach with the following
- Coaching pole vault
- Conduct daily workouts and practices
- Attend all practices and outdoor track meets
- Supervise and instruct student-athletes during all team activities
- Prepare the track facility for all home meets
- Promote balanced achievement in all areas of school life for student-athletes
- Communicate effectively with parents, students, and school administrators
- Motivate athletes
- Assist in building the outdoor track program and plan for its future
Qualifications
- CPR / First Aid Training, Fundamentals of Coaching Training, Health and Safety for Coaches, and Concussion Training preferred
- Complete orientation through human resources including fingerprinting and background checks
- Within three years of hiring, successful completion of the American Sport Education Program (ASEP) course and test entitled "Basic Virginia High School League Course" accessible at http://www.asep.com/asep.content/org/VHSL.cfm will be completed.
