We are seeking skilled and motivated Underground Water and Sewer Pipe Fitters to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining underground water and sewer pipelines with precision and safety. Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and pipe installation plans to ensure accurate placement of underground water and sewer pipelines.
- Operate heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, forklifts, and front loader trucks to excavate trenches and move materials efficiently.
- Install pipes using pipe lasers for precise alignment and welding techniques to secure joints and connections.
- Perform concrete forming and finishing tasks related to utility structures like manholes and access points.
- Conduct utility locating to identify existing underground infrastructure before excavation begins, preventing damage or service disruptions.
- Use plumbing knowledge to connect pipelines with proper fittings, ensuring leak-proof installations.
- Follow safety protocols diligently while working on construction sites involving oil & gas or municipal utility projects.
Experience
- Prior experience working in construction sites with underground water or sewer pipeline installation is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency in heavy equipment operation including dozer, loader, backhoe, excavator, forklift, front loader truck, and pipeline-specific machinery.
- Skilled in blueprint reading and interpreting technical drawings for accurate pipe placement.
- Knowledge of concrete finishing, concrete forming techniques, welding processes, and utility locating methods.
- Familiarity with construction safety standards related to oil & gas projects or municipal utilities is a plus.
