Our client is a highly respected digital agency based in the Midlands. For more than 2 decades they have specialised in bespoke web design, development, online membership systems, and digital solutions that drive real business results
They have recently become an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT), embracing very much the philosophy embodied by the John Lewis Partnership.
As the original founders exit the business there is a need to recruit an Operations Director to ensure that the level of experience and strategic vision is maintained moving forward.
The role working closely with the existing Managing Director and currently the sole founder remaining in the business you will
· Set and ensure financial targets are exceeded
· Deal with day-to-day issues which affect the business quickly becoming the first port of call when situations arise and by example creating a can do and will do attitude across the company
· Rigorously promote a programme of continuous improvement by continually reviewing the scope, complexity and effectiveness of current operations and modifying the required aspects of the operational strategy as required.
· Manage development, IT support and project design and implementation by supporting key reports and when required taking a hands-on approach
· Create a culture which is supportive and developmental centred around regular in depth one to one appraisal and coaching session for direct reports and other key individuals. Ensure each and every individual receives the appropriate training and development required to succeed in their respective positions and understands their responsibilities
· Develop the appropriate level of contacts within the company’s client base necessary to ensure that channels of communication are maximised
Skills & Experience first and foremost it is important that despite your experience and seniority you exhibit both a hands on approach and an undiminished ambition
· Senior management/Directorship within a company prominent in the digital sector
· An awareness of programming languages and an understanding of relevant software/hardware sufficient to become immediately credible with the development team
· Practical experience of project management and an appreciation of web design
· Outstanding commercial acumen
· Exposure to AI and its applications resulting in enhancing efficiencies and cost reduction
· An appreciation of an EOT culture
