What are the responsibilities and job description for the Retail Games Associate position at Rad Lad Games?
We are looking for a friendly, sociable, and organized individual with experience playing Trading Card Games, tabletop RPGs, and/or more advanced board games (I’m so sorry but monopoly when you were 7 doesn’t apply). We have a starting pay of $16.50 and regular raises (including 1 after training). Must be flexible and able to work weekends and evenings.
Our Store Hours are 3pm-9pm Tuesday-Friday, 12pm-9pm Saturday, and 12pm-4pm Sunday. We are currently seeking a qualified candidate available on Weekends - Saturdays and Sundays and potentially Wednesday evening.
Duties:
- Provide exceptional customer service to all customers and be involved and helpful to those coming in to participate in store events.
- Communicate effectively with customers and stay in contact with Shop Owner and other employees via text.
- you WILL operate the store alone most days - so ability to self-direct and need limited guidance to be productive is crucial (training period you will be with Owner or Another employee)
- Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently
-Understand the Products - No one can be the #1 know all for every game we carry in store, but it is your duty to both understand some products coming INTO the job and go out of your way to learn about other games, fandoms, and collectibles.
- Maintain a clean and organized store and play area. When Trading Cards are involved and people are in and out all the time - things can start to pile up - cleaning the floors, spraying down tables, taking out the trash every night, organizing the Storage Rooms, and cleaning the restrooms is only part of the job - behind the counter, on and under tables - there are things out of place or left behind by a customer or by an employee - and it is crucial to keep organized to ensure things get back to where they belong.
- Stock shelves and merchandise products as needed. (Must Have Ability to lift up to 20 lbs)
- Stay up-to-date on product knowledge and industry trends
- Assist in maintaining our online store and shipping products
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in retail sales
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Basic technical knowledge of computers and POS
- Experience and Knowledge of products in store
- Ability to multitask and handle multiple customers simultaneously
- Pay: $16.50 an hour with regular performance based pay increases (and 1 increase after training/probationary period is completed - *approx 90 days*).
