ASSISTANT MANAGER JOB DESCRIPTION
Reports To: Store Manager
Provides Leadership To: Department Managers and Sales Associates
Position Summary
The Assistant Manager works closely with the Store Manager to support the daily operations, sales performance, customer experience, merchandising, and overall success of the store.
This position helps lead and develop employees, maintain company standards, and ensure customers receive knowledgeable and attentive service. The Assistant Manager must demonstrate sound judgment, take ownership of store needs, solve problems effectively, and provide clear direction to the team.
When the Store Manager is not present, the Assistant Manager is responsible for leading the store and making informed decisions consistent with TYLER’S policies and business priorities.
Responsibilities
- Provides daily leadership, direction, and support to Department Managers and Sales Associates.
- Assists with hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, and developing employees.
- Communicates daily priorities, delegates responsibilities, and holds employees accountable for completing assigned tasks.
- Leads by example through professionalism, reliability, initiative, and a strong work ethic.
- Ensures customers receive friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable service.
- Resolves customer concerns promptly and professionally.
- Supports the sales floor during peak periods and helps the team achieve sales and service goals.
- Maintains strong product knowledge and coaches employees on active selling and product recommendations.
- Maintains store cleanliness, organization, merchandising, and product presentation according to company standards.
- Works with store leadership to ensure efficient product flow from the stockroom to the sales floor.
- Helps identify and resolve inventory discrepancies, product damage, and loss-prevention concerns.
- Assists with scheduling, payroll, employee performance, and other store operations as needed.
- Opens and closes the store and ensures all required procedures are completed accurately.
- Protects company merchandise, funds, equipment, keys, and other property.
- Ensures employees follow company policies, operating procedures, and safety expectations.
- Keeps the Store Manager informed of significant employee, customer, operational, and facility concerns.
- Performs other duties as assigned in support of the store and company.

Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum of three years of retail management or comparable leadership experience. High-volume retail experience is preferred.
- Previous experience leading employees, managing store operations, and supporting sales and customer-service results.
- Must be available to work a flexible, full-time schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and peak business periods.
- Must be available to open and close the store based on business needs.
- Must be dependable, self-motivated, adaptable, and comfortable taking ownership of store needs.
- Must demonstrate professionalism, sound judgment, a positive attitude, and a genuine interest in retail leadership.
- Must be able to perform the essential responsibilities of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.

Pay: $45,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
