Role Description
The Speech Language Pathologist is responsible for designing and implementing a strengths-based therapeutic program for each assigned child that will promote learning and a positive self-image all in accordance with Racker’s vision and mission. In this position, you will work independently, and act as a collaborative part of the larger educational and clinical team at Racker. The Speech-Language Pathologist will incorporate systems advocacy into their work to support students and the school community. The ideal candidate will possess a strong clinical basis, appreciation for total communication, and an ability to bring playfulness into the work. We will accept full time, and contract applicants.
Qualifications
- Education/Certification: Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology; New York State Certification as a Teacher of the Speech Hearing Handicapped; ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence; approved driver; valid New York State Driver’s License
- Experience: Those in the Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) will be considered, Familiarity with multidisciplinary approaches to intervention and habilitation
- Requirements:
- Possible travel to various locations within multiple counties, using own valid, working vehicle. Must have valid driver’s license.
- Use of smartphone for documentation purposes required. Ownership/usage of personal smartphone is strongly preferred.
