Essential Functions
- Shadow assigned merchant team to understand buying functions.
- Gain exposure to tasks an assistant and associate buyer would be responsible for.
- Exposure to buying process and procedure: how do we work together as a team and the essential functions of each position
- Exposure to financial reporting and gain an understanding of open to buy and budgets
- Retrieval from vendor portals
- Working in assortment planning
- How to identify trends and adapt them to our consumer
- Assistance with production of Visual Assortments by brand for current buying seasons via Power Point
- Possible review of DC on hand product and manual allocation of product to stores after analysis of inventories by stores
- Good research and analytical skills
- Knowledge of copywriting and editing
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail
- Must be detail oriented
- Must be able to communicate effectively and professionally
- Must have the ability to collaborate with a team and contribute to insights
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods in an office environment.
- Occasional lifting and carrying of product samples (up to 20 lbs).
- Frequent use of a computer, including typing and viewing a screen for extended periods.
- Ability to travel to local stores or vendor meetings as needed.
- Occasional bending, reaching, and organizing merchandise samples.
