Job Summary:
Conveniently located in Mount Pleasant, Racine Railroad Products is a Wisconsin family-owned business, proud to provide innovative equipment and tools to the most prominent rail customers in the world. Our Maintenance-of-Way equipment is designed to ensure our customers receive the benefit of improved safety, performance and reliability.
Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Maintenance Manager oversees the maintenance and upkeep of four buildings, including a manufacturing facility, and the surrounding 19-acre property. This role is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and cost-effective operation of all facilities, grounds, and equipment. The Maintenance coordinates with external contractors, and works closely with other departments to support production and operational needs.
Essential Duties:
- Develop and execute preventive maintenance plans for all buildings, equipment, and systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.).
- Ensure the manufacturing facility's machinery and equipment are maintained to minimize downtime and ensure safe operation.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and structural issues across all buildings.
- Oversee landscaping, snow removal, and maintenance of outdoor spaces, including parking lots, pathways, gardens and drainage systems.
- Manage upkeep of any outdoor structures, fencing, and lighting across the 19-acre property.
- Ensure compliance with local environmental and zoning regulations for land use and maintenance.
- Coordinate with external contractors for specialized maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
Coordinate and oversee local pickups and deliveries of products, materials, and supplies.
Maintain vehicles used for transportation, ensuring they are serviced and compliant with local regulations.
Work closely with production and shipping departments to schedule deliveries and pickups efficiently.
- Lead the response to facility-related emergencies, such as equipment failures, power outages, or storm damage.
- Develop and maintain contingency plans for critical infrastructure and operations.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience maintaining both industrial or commercial buildings.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems, as well as building maintenance best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently, self-driven.
- Physical ability to lift packages up to 50 lbs.
