Role Description
We're seeking a mission-driven Controller to lead our accounting and financial operations. Reporting to the President, you'll be the financial backbone of the Foundation - overseeing everything from financial reporting and budgeting to grant processing, payroll, investment management, and internal controls. You'll work closely with the President, staff, Board of Directors, and Finance and Investment Committees to ensure sound financial oversight and accurate, transparent stewardship of our funds.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare financial statements and reports
- Lead the annual budgeting process
- Coordinate the annual audit and Form 990 preparation
- Manage relationships with auditors and investment professionals
- Ensure compliance with financial policies and regulatory requirements
- Oversee financial administration of charitable funds and grants
- Collaborate with donors, professional advisors, and staff on gift and distribution stewardship
- Assist with other office management tasks as needed
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- 10 years of accounting or financial management experience
- CPA, MBA, or nonprofit/fund accounting experience preferred
- Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills
- High integrity, discretion, and attention to detail
- Genuine commitment to community and mission-driven work
