What are the responsibilities and job description for the Preschool Assistant Teacher position at Rabun County Head Start?
Qualifications:
- Must have a CDA, TCC credential or an Associate's degree in ECE.
- Preferable at least one year's experience in working with pre-school age children.
- Experienced driver with valid license who has access to a vehicle that can be used on the job.
- Able to pass a criminal records check
- Knowledgeable of basic computer skills and predominant software such Microsoft word, Excel spreadsheets, email, etc.
Job duties include (but not limited to): providing a safe, secure, nurturing learning environment, assisting with preparation of lesson plans, all classroom activities, making and documenting educational home visits and conferences, recruitment, monitoring and recording progress of children. Will implement all aspects of the program to meet or exceed Head Start Performance Standards, and other requirements as set forth by the governing agency, and follow all guidelines set forth in the Procedures Manual and Operation Plan. Must possess proficient verbal and written communication skills. Must attend training sessions as required by the agency.
