What We Seek:
We seek a Senior Associate to join our Issue Campaigns practice. Senior Associates at our firm bring hands-on contextual knowledge and strong project management abilities to our client engagements. Specifically, candidates who join our Issue Campaigns practice will have a track record of successful involvement in coalition building, mobilizing grassroots leaders, targeted messaging, direct stakeholder outreach, and/or implementing new initiatives and programs. Add to that a high degree of initiative, personal resilience, attention to detail, real-time good judgment, a lot of creativity, and a concierge-like approach to client services.
This position is based in our downtown LA office and offers schedule flexibility, while prioritizing a consistent and meaningful in-office presence to support collaboration and team engagement.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with client services teams, with a focus on executing multi-faceted campaign strategy and tactics.
- Contribute to strategy, work plan development and management, and other related services in support of successful engagements.
- In collaboration with team members, develop, refine and/or execute various deliverables, to include environmental scans, coalition building and management, program/work plans, messaging and narrative materials, summative reports, recommendation memos, presentation decks, etc.
- Engage in and support coalition and issue campaign development activities, including networking, identifying opportunities for engagement, movement activities, etc.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for client logistical interactions, managing and scheduling meetings and materials.
- Manage and support development of client- and practice-area-related data, materials, and other information with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Contribute to the Issue Campaigns practice area substantively and tactically – thought partnership, knowledge-sharing, problem-solving, work planning, etc.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Requirements
- 3 – 5 years experience in grassroots movements, coalition building, and/or stakeholder outreach.
- Deep connections to organizations, foundations, and nonprofit groups advocating for, working with, or representing marginalized groups and communities, especially those serving Black and Latino/a populations.
- Exemplary oral and written communication skills. Candidates must have the demonstrable ability to quickly produce clear, compelling, written collateral.
- Ability to thrive and manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrable project management skills across multiple assignments with many moving parts.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in work products and deliverables.
- Experience translating policy generalities into specific outcomes that resonate with stakeholders is a strong plus.

Salary Range and Benefits:
Our salary for this role is $70,500 per year.
