Job Title: Cabling Engineer
Location: Sparks, NV 89437
Mode : Contract
USC/GC only
Key Responsibilities:
· Install, terminate, label, and test **structured cabling systems** (CAT6/CAT6A, fiber optic – SM/MM)
· Support cabling for **LAN, Wi‑Fi, voice, CCTV, access control, nurse call, and medical devices**
· Perform cable testing, certification, troubleshooting, and remediation
· Maintain accurate **as-built documentation, labeling, port mapping, and rack layouts**
· Coordinate with **network, desktop, biomedical, and facilities teams** during deployments and upgrades
· Support hospital IT projects including **wards, clinics, labs, OTs, data centers, and clinics**
· Ensure adherence to **hospital safety, infection control, and change management standards**
· Work within defined **SLA, incident, and service request processes**
Technical Skills:**
· Hands-on experience in **structured cabling (Copper & Fiber)**
· Knowledge of **fiber splicing, OTDR testing, and cable certification tools**
· Experience with **racks, patch panels, cable trays, and conduits**
· Basic understanding of **network connectivity and LAN infrastructure**
· Ability to read **floor plans and network diagrams**
· Healthcare Environment Experience (Preferred):**
· Experience working in **live hospital or clinical environments**
· Understanding of **patient safety, infection control, and low-voltage systems**
· Ability to work in **24x7, mission-critical operations**
Experience & Qualifications:**
· 2–5 years** experience in structured cabling or network infrastructure
· Healthcare, hospital, or mission-critical environment experience preferred
Certifications (Preferred)
· * Structured Cabling Certification (BICSI / OEM)
· * Fiber Optic Technician Certification
· * ITIL Foundation / Safety certifications (good to have)
