Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Mobile Installation Technician to install, maintain, and troubleshoot electronic equipment in a variety of vehicles, including first responder units. This role is ideal for someone who is hands‑on, detail‑oriented, and confident working independently in the field. You’ll be responsible for ensuring clean, safe, and professional installations that meet industry and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electronic equipment in vehicles (GPS units, radios, wiring, lighting, cameras, etc.).
- Perform clean, organized, and safety‑compliant installations with attention to detail.
- Work on specialized or emergency vehicles when required (police, fire, EMS).
- Diagnose and resolve complex installation issues in the field.
- Maintain detailed records of installations, repairs, and inspections for quality assurance and reporting purposes
- Manage multiple installations and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- Communicate professionally with clients and team members while working independently on-site.
- Travel locally to installation sites as needed.
Experience
- Hands‑on experience installing or maintaining electronics in vehicles (wiring, GPS, radios, lighting, etc.).
- Experience working on emergency or specialized vehicles is a strong plus.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues calmly and efficiently.
- Strong organizational habits and commitment to clean, safe installation practices.
- Comfortable working independently and documenting work for QA purposes.
- Must be able to pass a background check due to access to first responder vehicles.
