ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

As an Electrical Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in designing, integrating, and sustaining our core products and new developments. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams, customers, and vendors conducting physics-based analyses and substantiation calculations to deliver electrical engineering solutions. The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:


  • Evaluation of existing electrical systems, components, and applications through testing and implementation
  • Issue diagnosis, root cause analysis and repair
  • Identifying functional gaps in existing systems and determining solutions
  • Feasibility studies for new technical requirements/projects
  • Design, build and test of electrical components and systems
  • Design electrical diagrams, block diagrams, interface control documents
  • Design conceptual wiring diagrams, and release detailed wiring diagrams
  • Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) segregation routes as a function of the signal type
  • Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) protection implementation
  • Electrical integration
  • Wires/cables selection to satisfy signal type, current, voltage, EMC and EMI aircraft requirements
  • Support technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total harness air vehicle design
  • Harness modeling of product to include: Harness 3-D modeling and space claims, overall air vehicle routing and integration concept, wire harness drawings and schematic creation, and associated documentation of cable harnesses
  • Participate in the concurrent engineering phase for harness installation, if necessary
  • supporting aircraft integration and testing on-site


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent from an ABET accredited institution with 8 years of aviation related experience.; or a Master’s degree in same and 5 years of directly related experience.
  • AS50881 (Wiring Aerospace Vehicle)
  • AC 43.13-1B standards and practices.
  • Experience with first article testing of newly designed components
  • Experience creating/modifying code for testing/debugging new systems
  • Proficient with operation of electronic instruments such as multimeters, oscilloscopes and logic analyzers, and spectrum analysis.
  • Occasional travel to CONUS and OCONUS locations (Alaska, Hawaii, UK and EUROPE)
  • US Citizenship/Permanent Resident Status


OTHER QUALIFICATIONS & DESIRED COMPETENCIES

  • Master’s in Electrical Engineering
  • 10 years of experience in electrical engineering design in both Military and Civil aviation
  • Knowledge and actual Participation in FAA STC Approval process; military Airworthiness process
  • Familiarity with RF principles
  • Familiar with Harness Related Mil Specs
  • AutoCAD, SolidWorks Electrical, or similar CAD drafting products experience preferred
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and test instrumentation
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security clearance. If a Secret Security clearance is not attainable, personnel will not have access to classified programs.
