Position Summary
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading all maintenance activities within a manufacturing facility to ensure equipment reliability, production uptime, and workplace safety. This role manages maintenance personnel, preventive maintenance programs, and continuous improvement initiatives to support efficient manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, schedule, and supervise maintenance technicians (mechanical, electrical, and automation)
- Develop and execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs to minimize downtime
- Oversee maintenance of production equipment, conveyors, robotics, PLCs, and facility systems
- Troubleshoot equipment failures and coordinate rapid repairs to support production schedules
- Collaborate closely with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams
- Manage maintenance budgets, spare parts inventory, and capital improvement projects
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and company safety standards
- Maintain accurate maintenance records using CMMS
- Manage outside contractors and service providers
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives (TPM, Lean, Root Cause Analysis)
- Support equipment installations, upgrades, and process improvements
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; technical degree or engineering background preferred
- 5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience required
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automation systems
- Experience with PLC troubleshooting and industrial controls preferred
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, TPM, or Six Sigma is a plus
