Role Description The Estimator is a full-time, on-site role based in Fort Worth, TX. This position is responsible for reviewing project plans and specifications, performing quantity take-offs, and preparing accurate cost estimates for concrete work on commercial, industrial, retail, and multi-family projects. Day-to-day tasks include analyzing bids, soliciting and evaluating subcontractor and supplier quotes, and coordinating with project managers and field teams to ensure estimates align with project requirements. The Estimator will maintain current pricing data, track bid outcomes, and assist in value engineering to help optimize project budgets. This role also involves participating in pre-bid meetings, responding to RFIs, and supporting the business development team with estimating-related information.
Qualifications
- Experience in construction estimating, preferably in commercial concrete, including reading and interpreting, plans, and specifications.
- Proficiency with estimating software and tools (e.g., digital take-off software, Excel) and strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Knowledge of construction processes, materials, and methods related to concrete work, along with understanding of industry standards.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities to handle multiple bids, meet deadlines, and maintain accurate documentation.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for collaborating with project managers, field teams, suppliers, and clients.
- Ability to work on-site in Fort Worth, TX, and collaborate in a team-oriented environment while exercising sound judgment and attention to detail.
- Relevant education or training in construction management, engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience in estimating will also be considered.
- Prior experience in commercial, industrial, retail, or multi-family construction within the DFW area is a plus.
