Summary
The Senior Electrical Engineer is a full-time, hybrid role located in Boston, MA. This role is responsible for leading electrical design for building systems projects, including power distribution, lighting, and related infrastructure, from concept through construction documents.
Responsibilities
- Lead Electrical Engineer on projects
- Responsible for design and production of normal and emergency power, lighting, and fire alarm systems
- Review of narratives, drawings, and specifications for all assigned projects, with knowledge in codes
- Construction administration duties
- Ensuring work is within the scope of the project proposal and on budget
- Ensuring the Quality Assurance/Quality Control process is carried out per company standards
Education and Experience
- Minimum of 10 years of electrical design experience
- BSEE
- PE is preferred
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Electrical Engineering principles, including applied Electricity and building systems fundamentals
- Demonstrated expertise in Electrical Design for commercial, institutional, or complex architectural projects
- Hands-on experience with Power Distribution systems, including equipment selection, one-line diagrams, and panel schedules
- Knowledge of Power Systems analysis, short-circuit and coordination studies, and reliability and safety considerations
- Proficiency with relevant design and modeling tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit/BIM, electrical calculation software)
- Ability to lead projects, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and mentor junior staff while managing schedules and deliverables
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work
